The Vuori Ponto Performance Pant has grown in popularity due to its DreamKnit™ fabric. This material from Vuori is what I describe as a staple for some of their gear and it delivers a soft and stretchy feel which is great for lounging.
As a fan of the tried and true Ponto Short, I was excited to put the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant to the test. I was curious if these pants would deliver a similar level of comfort, and I wanted to know what contexts would benefit most from these pants.
Overall, it’s tough to beat the comfortable and casual build of the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant. These have quickly become one of my go-to lounge pants, but I have a few cons to note with these pants and I’ll discuss those below.

Who Should Invest In the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant?
The Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is a great all-season pant for those that prioritize comfort with their apparel. This pant’s DreamKnit fabric offers a super comfortable fit and feel for casual wear and lounging.
I also like the weight of the DreamKnit fabric because despite it being built with a knit, it walks a nice line between being heavy enough for cooler months and light enough for warmer environments.
Another perk with these pants is that they offer a 30″ inseam compared to the 28″ inseam in the Sunday Performance Jogger. These pants should resonate well with those slightly longer legs. I have a 32″ inseam and felt like these pants offer enough length to where they never really ride up.
As a whole, I like the Ponto Performance Pant and can see it being a good option for most guys wanting “no-frills” style pants for relaxing. These won’t be the pants for anyone needing pants for serious working out and if you have shorter legs, these might run long on you.
Vuori Ponto Performance Pant Pros
There’s a lot to like about the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant. Below are some of my favorite pros and things to like with these pants.
- Good All-Season Pant for Casual Wear
- 30″ Inseam Is Nice for Longer Legs
- DreamKnit Fabric Is Great for Comfort
The first aspect to like about the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is that they can be great all-season pants for casual wear. Some pants that have similarly relaxed fits can run too warm for hotter days in the spring, summer, and fall, but this pant is a nice exception.
The DreamKnit fabric used in these pants is interesting because it’s warm, yet breathable. Essentially, I feel like these pant’s material does a good job of being heavy “enough” while still having a lightweight and wispy feel, they’re interesting.
Due to the weight of this pant’s fabric, I’ve enjoyed wearing these pretty much every season. I’ve worn them in the mornings on cooler fall days that get warmer as the day goes, and on cooler winter days where the temperature sat around 40 degrees Fahrenheit all day.
Note, while I write all-season, that will come with some limitations. For example, on super hot summer days, these will run warmer and for frigid winter days, you’ll likely want something with more weight. These are good for a bit of everything but will lack specificity for some extreme temperature contexts.
Another aspect to like about the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant — which is also a drawback that I’ll discuss below — is the 30″ inseam on these pants. If you’re a taller guy with long legs, then you’ll likely appreciate the inseam that comes with these pants.
For example, I have a 32″ inseam and I’m often weary of pants and joggers that have inseams that sit around 28″. For example, I was hesitant to invest in the Sunday Performance Jogger because of this, as ~28″ inseams can often ride up on me like in the Ten Thousand Interval Pant.
Overall, I never have issues with the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant riding up and the DreamKnit fabric has a nice level of mobility. When going into deep hip and knee flexion, these pants shouldn’t ride up a ton or at least every time you bend your legs like other models with shorter inseams.
The final perk of the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is the DreamKnit fabric that Vuori uses in these. I mentioned this fabric a few times already in this review, but if there’s a reason to buy these pants, it’s because of this material.
The DreamKnit is wicked soft and super comfortable on the skin. I don’t always like wearing pants inside if I’m lounging around, but these are honestly an exception because the fabric is so soft and stretches well so these never feel limiting at all.
And speaking of the stretch of this material, I also like how well the pants and waist move with my body, and I think most will enjoy that these can be stretchy enough to use for light warm-ups before workouts as well. These will not be great for serious training, more on that below.
Vuori Ponto Performance Pant Cons
There’s a lot to like with the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant, but there are also a couple of cons to note with these pants before investing in them.
- The Inseam May Run Too Long for Some
- Not Great for Serious Workouts
- Tight for Thicker Thighs and Muscular Legs
The first drawback of the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is that the inseam will not work for everyone. More specifically, if you have shorter legs, then you’ll likely want to pass on this model.
This pant has a relaxed fit and with its 30″ inseam, I think it will run long for those that have true inseams that sit around 28″. If you’re unsure of your inseam, then I’d highly suggest measuring pants that currently fit you well and cross-referencing that with the inseam of these pants.
Another drawback with the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is that they’re not going to be your best pant for working out and training, especially if you want something for more serious strength work or CrossFit.
These pants will work for casual stuff, but I would highly suggest passing on wearing these once you’ve gotten warm pre-workout and for anything with a barbell. The knit used in these pants can fray from the knurling or barbells or from abrasion from the ground.
Honestly, I’m not super fond of the “Performance” in the name of these because I feel like that’s somewhat misleading when it comes to actual performance-focused pants for strength work, CrossFit, and serious cross-training.
The last drawback with the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is that they can run pretty tight for those with thicker thighs and more muscular legs. I find these to be pretty tight around my thighs and I don’t have the biggest legs in the world.
I think if you have meatier quads, hamstrings, and glutes, you’ll want to take this into account before investing in these. I also found these tight when rocking shorts underneath these pants pre-workout which is another knock on their “performance” point of view.
Additionally, if you have a slimmer waist and bigger legs, you may also find these pants to fit somewhat awkwardly. The waist can feel a little large while the slimmer fit of the legs can feel odd.
Performance and Styling
To discuss the performance of the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant, I’ll cover how these pants perform in various contexts. I’ll discuss their performance for daily wear, working out, and multi-season use.
I’ll also cover and share some examples of how I like to personally style the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant, and highlight how they look with different outfits.
Testing the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant for Daily Wear and Working Out
When it comes to daily wear, there are things a few to like and dislike about the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant. I like the comfort and how easy it is to wear this model in more casual settings.
The Ponto Performance Pant is one of my go-to options when I’m working from home, running errands, or meeting friends for early-morning coffee chats. It looks pretty good in those settings and casual enough to not look super dressed down.
I also enjoy the comfort of the DreamKnit fabric and how it is to lounge around the house in these pants. This is one of the few pairs of pants that I don’t mind laying around in all day if I’m taking a rest day or just doing work around the house.
The stretch and mobility add to these pants’ comfortable fit and feel, especially for all-day wear. My complaints about this model for daily wear revolve around its pockets and tightness.
Since this pant runs a little more snug through the thigh, your phone, wallet, keys, and everything else that you put in your pockets tend to stick out when wearing these.
For working out, these pants can work if you’re wearing them for casual warm-ups. If I’m doing some light Assault Bike to warm up, then adding in some mobility work, these pants work. For anything more serious, the performance and durability of these pants just aren’t there.
How to Style the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant
Styling the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant is pretty straightforward. I’ll most often rock these with a hoodie or a t-shirt depending on the weather. You can easily dress these up or down depending on the top and shoes you go with.
If I’m lounging around the house, I’ll usually go for an oversized t-shirt, and if I’m out and about, I’ll wear something more fitted or rock a hoodie if it’s cool outside.
Vuori Ponto Performance Pant Sizing
In the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant, most should be safe going true to size. The Ponto Performance Pant has some sizes that have true waist sizing and some have ranges.
While the Vuori Ponto Performance should fit true for most, there are a few sizing caveats to keep in mind with these before investing. I’ll discuss those sizing considerations more in-depth below.
Below, I’m going to cover my sizing dimensions in addition to how these pants fit me. I’m wearing a medium in this review in the Charcoal Heather colorway.
- Height: 6′ 0″
- Weight: 180 lbs
- Waist: 32-33″
- Inseam: 32″
- Hip (circumference around butt): 40″
- Mid-Thigh: 23.5″-24″
Overall, I feel as though the Ponto Performance Pant fits me well and going up a size would make the waist too large. However, these are not my favorite pant for having things in my pocket and I’m not fond of these for pre-workout use when I have shorts on underneath.
Since these pants’ material is fairly light, I don’t like how my wallet and phone protrude in the pockets of these, and I think this is also exaggerated because these naturally run a little tighter for bigger thighs.
If you have bigger legs, then I would highly suggest considering this. These pants run a little more snug through the thigh, to begin with, and when there are things in your pockets, they can be a bit offputting due to the pockets sticking out a ton.
In addition, I think the longer inseam in these, while being great for some, will be a turnoff for those with shorter legs. The last thing you want is these pants running too long and hanging over your shoes or scraping on the ground.
Price Breakdown
For the Vuori Ponto Performance Pant, you can expect to pay $98 USD. This price point is right in line with other pairs of Vuori pants and joggers like the Sunday Performance Jogger.
If you’re investing in these pants for their softness and primarily plan to use them for casual wear and lounging, then I think the price point is worth it for these. If there’s one area where Vuori gear is fairly priced, it’s often with their pants.
For example, the price of the Vuori Ponto Short at $78 USD is a bit high, but for the Ponto Performance Pant, I could see this price being easier to justify.
Conversely, if you want a pant for serious training or if you have thicker legs, I’d suggest passing on this model because I don’t think their price will align with your specific wants, needs, and sizing asks.

Takeaway Thoughts
The Vuori Ponto Performance Pant doesn’t disappoint when it comes to comfort for lounging and daily wear. These pants can also be a pretty good option for those needing all-season pants.
The big perks of this model include its comfortable DreamKnit fabric and its ability to walk a nice line between being wispy for warm days and heavy enough for cooler days.
Now, it’s worth reiterating that pants will have some limitations when it comes to working out, and they can fall short on very warm and frigid days, so they’re not the best for specificity.
