The Lululemon ABC Jogger could be argued to be a gold standard for men’s performance-focused joggers. The ABC Jogger is a popular option for anyone that wants to rock their joggers on a daily basis and to the gym. As a fan of most Lulu shorts, I was excited to put the ABC Jogger to the test.
Over the course of my testing, I’ve found multiple things to like about the Lululemon ABC Jogger. For example, this is a great dual-functionality jogger that can be worn for lifting and running in warmer months while also looking good on a casual wear basis. That’s not to say this jogger doesn’t come with a couple of cons though, which I’ll discuss below.
In this Lululemon ABC Jogger review, I’m going to cover a variety of topics to help you decide if this jogger is a good pick for your needs.

Who Should Invest In the Lululemon ABC Jogger?
The Lululemon ABC Jogger is a good option for any guy who wants a jogger that can double down for casual wear and working out. This jogger is built with Warpstreme™ fabric, which gives this jogger a nice blend of quick-drying and sweat-wicking capabilities.
Additionally, the Warpstreme™ fabric offers a nice 4-way stretch fit which is awesome for giving this jogger a nice level of mobility. Whether you’re squatting in the gym or bending over in the grocery store, this jogger moves well with you and the waistband remains secure so they never really ride up.
The pocket system on these pants is also a plus for rocking them on a day-to-day basis. The pockets are plenty deep for phones, keys, and wallets, and there’s an additional posterior zip pocket on the back of these pants.
I think if you’re someone wanting a high-quality jogger that can be used and in a lot of different settings for warmer months while looking good, then the Lululemon ABC Jogger is a good option to look into.
Lululemon ABC Jogger Pros
There are multiple things to like about the Lululemon ABC Jogger’s construction and performance.
- Great for Daily Wear and Casual Training
- Deep Pockets Hold Belongings Secure
- Lightweight, Mobile, and Breathable for Different Contexts
The first thing to like about the Lululemon ABC Jogger is its dual functionality for training and daily wear. This pair of joggers have a nice clean appearance to them that gives them a nice casual look. For example, you can wear them out to run errands and casually to work (per your work’s dress code), and they look good.
It’s also nice that they can double down as a good pair of joggers for warm-ups and casual training. They have a 4-way stretch material that moves well with you and these work well for jogs, warming-up for your lifts, and even rocking for entire sessions where you want a little more warmth or material around the legs.
The deep pockets are also a perk to these joggers. One of my pet peeves specifically with joggers is when they have shallow pockets because then you’re severely capped in the contexts in which you can wear your joggers.
I like the deep front pockets on the ABC joggers for securing my wallet, phone, and keys while I’m out. The added zip pocket on the back is also a nice addition for anyone that wants to carry their wallet there or secure anything during outdoor sessions.
The final things to like about the ABC Jogger revolve around its construction. I like the Warpstreme™ fabric used in these joggers and feel like it does a good job at providing them with a nice blend of stretch and security without them feeling cheap or like an overly stretchy pair of workout pants.
Basically, the construction on the ABC Jogger seems well-thought-out and I like how the material interacts with different settings. This pair of joggers is definitely a good call for seasons like spring and fall where you want a little warmth, but you’re not relying on these joggers to completely block out the cold.
Lululemon ABC Jogger Cons
Despite liking the ABC Jogger as a whole, there are a couple of cons to note about the Lululemon ABC Jogger before investing.
- Limited Inseam Options
- Taper May Be Tight for Those With Big Feet
- Not the Most Cost-Efficient
The first drawback to the Lululemon ABC Jogger is that some of their inseam options may not work for everyone. Personally, this is always one of my gripes with pants that are sized by S, M, L, and XL because they generally have fixed inseams.
I think if you’re shorter with shorter legs or taller with longer legs, then you might find that the inseams of the Lululemon ABC Jogger fit somewhat awkward. Currently, Lululemon offers a 28″, 30″, and 32″ inseam so if none of these align with your size, then you might be out of luck with this jogger.
The second drawback with the Lululemon ABC Jogger that is fairly niche is that its taper maybe a little offputting for anyone with bigger feet. The end of the ABC Jogger’s leg is an elastic cuff and it stretches decently well, however, I think it can be limiting or awkward for anyone with larger feet.
For context, my foot size is 10 and my feet have a fairly neutral or regular width to them and I don’t have issues with the jogger’s taper, but it does take a little bit of effort to get the foot through especially if I’m sweaty or hot. If you have big feet, then you’ll likely have to finesse your feet each time you take these on and off.
The last drawback is that the Lululemon ABC Jogger is not the most cost-efficient option on the market. While their quality is overall good, if you’re trying to save money, then you might want to look into other options.
For example, TT’s Interval Pant comes in at a price of $98 USD, and the Vuori’s Sundar Performance Jogger has a price sitting around $89 USD. These are both viable options as well that will cost you $30 USD less.
Performance
To discuss the performance of the Lululemon ABC Jogger, I wanted to test them in a variety of settings that I think align with how most guys will use and wear these joggers.
Lululemon ABC Jogger for Running
I think for running purposes, the Lululemon ABC Jogger will definitely work for anyone using them more casually. For example, if you’re going for a shorter 1-3 miles run outdoors or using these for a warm-up jog in the gym before your lift, then you’ll enjoy how the ABC Jogger performs.
They breathe well and are light enough to not feel super heavy for shorter periods of running. For long-distance runs, these may not be the best call because I think if you’re putting in serious mileage, then there will be a point of diminishing returns in regard to these joggers’ performance and weight.
Lululemon ABC Jogger for Lifting and Versatile Training
In the context of recreational lifting and versatile training, I like the Lululemon ABC Jogger for a few reasons. First, this jogger has a good amount of mobility so if you’re sinking deep squats, then you shouldn’t feel limited in this jogger especially if you get your sizing correct.
The tapered legs will ride up a little bit when squatting, but that’s to be expected when you’re training with a tapered jogger like this that isn’t overly elastic. Second, I like the pocket system on these joggers and how easy it is to store my phone with them.
If you’re at a commercial gym and train with your phone and bring it with you throughout your sessions, then it’s even more useful having deeper pockets. As a jogger for general lifting, this is one of the better workout-focused pants Lululemon makes.
Lululemon ABC Jogger for Daily Wear and Walking
If there’s one area where the Lululemon ABC Jogger excels it’s for daily and casual wear. This jogger has quick-drying tech which is great if you’re rocking these in slightly warmer weather and their lightweight 4-way stretch build also help them breathe well in this context.
They have a simplistic look to them which gives them a nice edge for rocking in very casual and somewhat formal settings. The deep pockets and internal and external drawstring tech are also nice perks to have in this context.
Lululemon ABC Jogger Sizing
The Lululemon ABC Jogger’s sizing and fit are interesting and I’ve had a little trouble landing on a size that I personally prefer, and this circles back to my cons section. The issue is that the waist and hip circumferences are off for me and I think this could be an issue for others with thicker butts and legs.
For example, the medium ABC Jogger’s waist fits great, but the material around the butt feels fairly tight because I’m closer to a larger’s hip circumference. So, I went with the large because I would rather have more room for mobility and training purposes.
Plus, if I want to wear my shorts underneath the joggers it was nearly impossible to do with the medium due to their limiting hip circumference. Below, I’ve provided shots in both a Medium and Large Lululemon ABC Jogger along with my sizing dimensions.
- Waist: 32-33″
- Hip Width: 40″
- Mid-Thigh: 24″
- Height: 6′ 0″
- Weight: 180 lbs
Could I get away with a medium? Yes, and I do actually think they look a little better if I’m just rocking briefs underneath and don’t plan to train in them.
Again though, I would rather have more room and have them look a tad looser than have them be too tight and limit my mobility when running or warming-up pre-workout. I also like wearing shorts under my jogs pretty regularly which I have on in the large photos included.

There is a lot to like about the Lululemon ABC Jogger. It has a fairly high-quality construction and works well for both daily wear and casual training. They’re a good jogger for slightly warmer weather and they look good.
They do have a slightly higher price point which could be a turnoff for some, especially with competitive options costing a bit less overall.

Just wanted to know what inseam you got as I’m 5.9 and having thoughts about the inseam.
Hey! I went with a 30″ inseam for these joggers.

Hey Jake! Thanks for the detailed break down. I’m definitely torn between M & L, sitting with both trying to decide which to return. Very similar body size, reasons as you. Believe it or not i would actually like to do some yoga in these, while also having a pair of solid looking pants since i travel a lot (limited clothing options).
Question for you – have you experience any shrinkage during washes?
This is a tough one. IMO, I think a large would be a solid call, especially if you’re wanting these for a little bit of everything. You could also layer them better while on the road, for ex, if it was cooler, I feel like it would be easier to rock compression tights under the large for extra warmth without making them too tight.
They’ll shrink a tiny bit, but not too much, IMO. Mostly just tighten back up after they’ve been loosened/worn for a few days. I let mine air dry in 9/10 occassions, btw. It prolongs the material’s health and hedges my bets for any potential dryer damage!
Thank you for checking out the review!

Do you have any photos in terms of outfits or were you mostly concerned with function/exercise for this?
I’m very similar measurements across the board but smaller thighs (same hip/height/waist) and was pretty sure Medium in non-skinny was the way to go but your images with Large have given me pause haha. Likely won’t exercise in them except for upper body.
Outfits, I’ll typically rock these casually with white/black tees or hoodies! Good for casual wear, running errands, and rocking to them for warm-ups. Concerned with a bit of both, honestly.
IMO, I’d say go Medium if you like a snugger fit. I think I could get away with rocking a medium in these and the large can feel a tad baggy at times. I don’t think a medium will be too tight on ya, especially in non-slim. Let me know what you end up going with — would love your feedback fellow dimensions, friend.
Cameron
Thanks for the suggestion! I went with Medium and you’re right this is a good fit without being baggy. I might need to do a couple more leg days to get the rear end to fill out a bit more haha and maybe get the length hemmed an inch but calves/thighs fit very well (without having shorts on underneath). Thank you for the article and the response!
